Hampton Inn Dubois

This Hampton Inn location was five stars from front to back. I stayed there with my great Dane who needs to be on the first floor. She will not go into an elevator. The front desk staff was awesome and accommodated my request. I can’t say enough about the cleanliness of the room, the hotel inside and out as well as grounds, and of course the wonderful breakfast buffet. I always feel at home at Hampton Inn!

They had no black tea. We inquired and they just shrugged their shoulders. Other issues were that they seemed extremely understaffed. We arrived at 4:30 PM and the room was not ready. Also, the lady putting the breakfast was the same lady checking us out and the same lady shrugging her shoulders about the tea. Hampton inn has been our choice for hotels for over 25 years but maybe there's a better chain these days. We deserve better.

Stayed here for a Little League baseball tournament in late July/early August. Bathroom had mildew on the ceiling, toilet seat was very loose, rust stains in the tub and on the floor behind the toilet, wallpaper was peeling, sofa had stains all over it. The a/c unit digital wall thermostat was missing - had to adjust the temp directly on the unit itself and it did not have a dehumidifier function (or it wasn't working), so the room was humid/damp the entire time. No ventilation in the bathroom either and it filled with steam/mirror was foggy after every shower. Day 2 the tub filled up during my shower and stayed clogged with rusty brown water. I reported it to the front desk and when we returned from an outing a few hours later, was told it had been unclogged. But it hadn't. Went back down to report that it was still clogged and the maintenance person happened to be at the front desk and seemed shocked because, as he stated, he "pulled all kinds of gunk out of the drain." Not something a guest wants to hear!! Fortunately, we were able to get a new room because someone had canceled a resrvation (hotel was full prior to that). The rooms were clean and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but otherwise it was a disappointing stay. The hotel is in dire need of maintenance and probably more staff.

I booked a 3 night stay. Found bedbugs in the first room, had to move rooms. Most of the desk staff was friendly- one refused to even look at me. Returned after being caught in the rain to all of our belongings in trash bags behind the desk because our room was "Trashed." We hadn't even packed all of our belongings up. I am furious and I encourage you to never stay here.
